Harkins, Merski Announce $100K Grant to Preserve Erie’s Cultural Heritage
State Reps. Pat Harkins and Bob Merski, both D-Erie, announced a $100,000 Keystone Historic Preservation Grant has been awarded to the Erie County Historical Society / Hagen History Center to support the preservation of the region’s rich cultural legacy.
“This significant investment recognizes the Hagen History Center’s historical importance and Pennsylvania’s dedication to protecting our cultural heritage,” said Harkins.
Merski added, “Preserving our local history helps us understand our roots and shape our shared future. This grant ensures institutions like the Hagen History Center can continue telling Erie’s story.”
The Keystone Historic Preservation Grant Program supports historic organizations, museums, and local governments throughout Pennsylvania by providing funding for the conservation of historic sites and promotion of archaeological resources, contributing to both community revitalization and local investment.
