Erie Insurance Experiencing Major Network Outage Impacting All Systems
Erie Insurance, the city’s largest employer, is experiencing a widespread network outage that company officials say is impacting all of its systems.
Sources tell us the Erie-based Fortune 500 company—home to more than 6,000 employees and over six million active policies—began experiencing issues on Saturday, with the problem escalating significantly Sunday.
The timing is especially notable, as the company marks its 100th anniversary this year.
A company spokesperson declined to elaborate on the nature of the outage and instead referred us to an official statement posted on the Erie Insurance website. It reads:
“We are currently experiencing a network outage that is affecting all systems. All available resources are working to assess the impact and resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
“During this outage, customers will be unable to access their online accounts or reach Customer Care or First Notice of Loss via phone. We will continue to provide updates once we have a complete and accurate understanding of the outage and its impact.”
Sources confirm that top company officials have been in ongoing meetings to address the situation.
