Senator Dave McCormick Applauds Amazon’s Historic $20 Billion Investment in Pennsylvania
U.S. Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA) is commending Amazon’s record-setting $20 billion investment in Pennsylvania, calling it a transformative moment for the Commonwealth’s economy.
The investment will fund the construction of data center campuses in Luzerne and Bucks Counties and is projected to create thousands of jobs.
“This is the largest economic development project in Pennsylvania history,” McCormick said. “I’m grateful to Amazon, Governor Shapiro, and government leaders at all levels who helped make this possible.”
The senator emphasized that Pennsylvania’s strengths, abundant energy resources, a skilled workforce, access to water, proximity to major population hubs, and world-class research institutions—make it a prime destination for advanced data center development.
McCormick also pointed to the importance of job creation and workforce development, stating that Amazon’s commitment will “bring critical workforce training programs to Pennsylvania.”
The announcement builds momentum heading into McCormick’s inaugural Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit, set to take place in Pittsburgh next month.
The event aims to unite energy leaders, AI and tech companies, labor organizations, and global investors to solidify Pennsylvania’s leadership in AI-driven innovation and data infrastructure development.
“This is just the beginning,” McCormick said. “Together, we’re positioning Pennsylvania at the forefront of the AI revolution and the future of America’s tech economy.”
