Severe Weather Leaves Two Horses Dead, Barns Destroyed
Two horses are dead after severe weather Monday night caused multiple barns to collapse in Wattsburg.
Nolan Seabury, son of the property owner, was on his way to Pittsburgh when his dad called him.
"He said everything was gone and I said what are you talking about, as he quickly hung up the phone trying to get all of the animals together," Seabury said.
Hundreds of neighbors and friends of the family were quick to respond to the destruction, offering their services to help clean up the mess the weather left behind.
"This community is the best, coming together," said Emily Sigler, a neighbor.
"We saw the whole community coming to help out, we got here pretty fast but there was already a bunch of people here before we got here," said Derek Bly, a friend of Nolan Seabury.
"This is one of my good friends and when something like this happens, which does not happen often around here, you are going to come out and help and do whatever you can do," said Corey Morrison, a friend of Nolan Seabury.
While the future is uncertain, Wattsburg community members say they will be there for the Seabury family.
"Sean Seabury has helped on the Scenic Heights Golf Course, helped his neighbors for years, so as truly devastating as this is, it is inspiring to see that all these people have come together and made an effort to make it better," said Aubrey Hammill, girlfriend of Nolan Seabury.
"The sense of community is the bright spot of all of this, I was on my way home and people were asking is everything okay or do you need my help and I come home and see hundreds of people here so that is a good feeling despite everything that happened, "said Seabury.
If you want to help the Seabury family you can donate to their GoFundMe.
