Erie is celebrating a big lottery win after one of two jackpot-winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 with Quick Cash tickets was sold right here in the city.

The winning ticket, purchased at the Giant Eagle on 2501 West 12th St. in Millcreek Township, matched all five numbers drawn—4, 7, 17, 27, and 36—in the June 9 drawing.

The Erie winner will receive $1,162,845 (before taxes), sharing the $2,325,690 jackpot with another winner from Butler County.

Giant Eagle will also receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.

This major win adds to Erie’s growing reputation as a lucky spot for Lottery players. In addition to the jackpot winner, thousands of other Cash 5 with Quick Cash players across the region won smaller prizes in the same drawing.

The identity of Erie’s newest millionaire remains unknown until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated.

Winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prize. Anyone holding the winning ticket is encouraged to contact the nearest Lottery office or call 1-800-692-7481 for instructions.

The Pennsylvania Lottery continues to benefit Erie County’s older residents by funding essential programs and services, including property tax and rent rebates, transportation, and senior centers.

Since its inception, the Lottery has contributed more than $36.2 billion statewide to support older Pennsylvanians.
