Warren County Highlighted in Major Methamphetamine, Fentanyl Trafficking Bust
Warren County is among five northern Pennsylvania counties impacted by a sweeping drug trafficking investigation that led to charges against seven individuals accused of distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl throughout the region.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced the arrests, which targeted both mid-level and street-level dealers operating in Cameron, Elk, McKean, Potter, and Warren counties.
The investigation revealed that Benjamin Simms, 31, of Coudersport, served as a mid-level dealer, trafficking between 30 and 40 pounds of methamphetamine from New York over the course of a year.
Six additional suspects, including Kyle P. Brown of Emporium and others from Ridgeway, Saint Marys, and Johnsonburg, allegedly operated independently as street-level dealers.
All seven face felony charges including possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy, and related offenses.
Simms is currently incarcerated at SCI-Forest, while Brown is being held at McKean County Prison on $50,000 bail.
Attorney General Sunday emphasized the importance of the operation for rural communities like Warren: “These traffickers pushed poisons into rural Pennsylvania communities. My mission to target drug traffickers spans the entire Commonwealth, and I commend our partners for collaboration that will have real impact in this region.”
The investigation was led by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General’s North Central Drug Task Force, with support from local law enforcement agencies across the affected counties, including Warren.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
