Nearly 24 hours after storms ripped through the area at Canadohta Lake. Tuesday was all about cleaning up, from trees, leaves, and debris.

Crews from Penelec and tree removal companies were hard at work following storms. Residents spent most of Monday night cleaning up after the storm, but there was still more work to be done on Tuesday. Branches remained in the road and needed to be removed. While most of the power was restored in the evening, crews were still working to restore it for some. Tree excavators said every job is different and they never know what they will walk into.

Tim Kelly, a foreman at Asplundh described, "We have to show up and then we set up our work area, everyone gets their PPE on, we kind of go through what we are going to do and then we execute it."

Kelly said even though this was one of the more smaller projects they have had to work on, every job is important to make sure power is restored in a timely manner.

Justine Russell was visiting Canadohta Lake for the week and said, "There was a lot of power lines down, a lot of trees, really bad, from the roots. The trees were uprooted from the ground."

As storms rolled across the lake, residents recalled the terrifying moments during the storm. Ann Bergheim, a resident on Canadohta Lake said, "There was a sheet of water out in front of me that I could not even see a single thing on my back deck, so I waited. All I could l hear around me was big things dropping, big things ripping like trees and the wind was just howling."

Some residents said they never experienced what they endured on Monday evening. Susan Diehl, who was visiting said, "I was standing at the stove cooking and all of a sudden I saw all this wind and then I looked out the window and across the lake and the wind and the waves across there and you can just see tree branches and everything was just flying and the rain was coming down hard. It was crazy."

While power has been restored for most of the residents, the clean up continued. Residents said while it was a fast moving storm, quickly sweeping through the area, the clean up is going to take more time.
