Titusville Couple Honors Son’s Memory with Gift to Education & Training Center at Pitt-Titusville

Robert T. and Saltcellar H. Joyce of Titusville have made a significant gift to support the Education & Training Center (ETC) at Pitt-Titusville in memory of their son, Alex Joyce.
“We are grateful to Bob and Schelly Joyce for the generous gift they made in memory of their son,” said Rick Esch, President of Pitt-Titusville. “Their generosity not only keeps Alex’s memory alive but also benefits students at ETC by helping them gain the skills to make meaningful contributions to our community.”
The new MAC classroom, located in the recently renovated J. Curtis McKinney II Student Union, has been dedicated in Alex’s honor.
A plaque in the classroom reads:
“This classroom is dedicated in honor of Alex, whose love for mechanics and unwavering curiosity continue to inspire future generations. May every student who learns here carry forward his enthusiasm, craftsmanship and spirit of innovation.”
Situated on the second floor of the Student Union, the MAC classroom is part of several renovated spaces unveiled during a ribbon-cutting and campaign celebration in late April.
Designed to bridge theory with hands-on experience, the MAC classroom overlooks the cutting-edge Peter C. Rossin Manufacturing Center.
It offers students an immersive educational setting that integrates technical instruction with real-time manufacturing processes.
