Erie County officials will cut the ribbon on a newly developed green space and rear entrance at the Mental Health Association (MHA) in downtown Erie on Tuesday, June 17 at 9:30 a.m.

The project moves the MHA Drop-In Center’s main entrance from busy Peach Street to a quieter, safer rear access point on 11th Street.

The updated space is designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and the overall experience for program participants—many of whom live with mental health challenges.

“This is part of my ‘Streets to Sustainability’ initiative to help people improve their quality of life,” said County Executive Brenton Davis. “The MHA serves around 100 individuals a day and plays a vital role in our community.”

The redesigned space was created with input from community members and downtown stakeholders, aiming to strengthen support systems while fostering a welcoming downtown environment.

The MHA Drop-In Center remains a daily lifeline for individuals seeking peer support, resources, and connection.
