Water World is making a splash with a massive expansion set to debut in Summer 2026.

According to Steve Gorman, the President of Waldameer and Water World, "About a year ago, we decided that we wanted to do something in the water park and we researched a lot and visited some other water parks and decided on these two rides."

The north half of the park will be transformed to include two massive 5-person family raft slides and a brand-new Endless River.

One slide will offer gentle spirals and dips, while the other features a semi-translucent helix and a dramatic wave wall for a moment of weightlessness.

The redesigned Endless River will include interactive elements, zero-depth entry, and improved accessibility.

"The endless river is like a circle and we are going to make it more like a paper clip. So that will give us some land in front of the river to build these two slides so today's body slides or giant slides will be removed the make room for this", said Gorman.

There's only one more summer to enjoy some classic slides at Water World before new attractions come in. A heated pool and four slides will be removed to make room for the new attractions.

To make way for the upgrades, classic attractions like Lake Erie Dip, Presque Isle Plunge, and the original Endless River will close after August 17.

Raging River, Wild River, and the heated relaxing pool are expected to remain open through Labor Day 2025.

Gorman said although he is sad to see these iconic and classic slides go away, he is looking forward to bring new and exciting attractions to the water park.
"You have to keep refreshing the park attractions so there's interest, you don't want to become stale, and unfortunately it's expensive to do new things and I want to do spectacular things", said Gorman.

Work is set to begin at the end of the season, but Gorman said he already has plans for what's next, "We also have a phase two after this that is already planned in two years after we will introduce two more new slides which will be even more exciting."

Phase II, coming later, promises even more dueling and twister tube slides.
