Erie’s first immersive theater company, Tethered, is set to debut a groundbreaking new production this September in the historic former Erie Maennerchor building at 1607 State Street.

Performances will run September 19, 20, 26, and 27 from 6–9 p.m.

This year’s experience explores Memory and Consciousness, immersing audiences in a near-future world where experimental technology allows a woman with Alzheimer’s to relive memories alongside her son.

Through film, dance, theater, music, and interactive environments, the story blurs the lines between reality and recollection.

Building on last year’s sold-out debut at PACA, Tethered’s 2025 show expands across the entire 30,000-square-foot Maennerchor building.

Producer John C. Lyons says, “We’re creating a deeply personal, mind-bending experience—one that challenges what it means to remember, to connect, and to be conscious.”
