$6.3 Million Improvement Project to Begin on Route 832 in Millcreek Township

A $6.3 million PennDOT project to enhance Route 832 (Peninsula Drive) in Millcreek Township is set to begin June 23, weather permitting.
The work covers 1.3 miles of resurfacing from Route 5 (12th Street) to the entrance of Presque Isle State Park and includes safety upgrades at the intersections of 6th, 8th, and 23rd Streets.
ADA curb ramps, new traffic signals, and permanent speed bumps near Sara’s Restaurant are also planned.
Additional improvements include drainage upgrades, new signage, road markings, guiderail replacement, and signal retiming at Route 5.
The contractor, Lindy Paving, Inc., will perform the work through October, with some traffic signal work extending into spring 2026.
Lane restrictions will be lifted during the July 4 and Labor Day holidays.
Drivers should expect delays and use caution in work zones.
Access to Presque Isle and area businesses will remain open.
The $6.36 million project is funded 80% federally and 20% by the state.
