The company says it detected unauthorized activity, acted quickly to contain it, and has since strengthened its systems. Erie reports no evidence of ransomware or ongoing threats.

Customers are urged to stay vigilant, avoid sharing personal information, and report unusual financial activity. Erie emphasizes it will not contact customers for payments during this time.

Despite the outage, local agents and customer care teams remain available. Policyholders can file claims by calling Erie Insurance’s First Notice of Loss team at 800-367-3743 or Customer Care at 800-458-0811.
