A section of East Front Street, where it meets East Second Street, will close to through traffic beginning Monday, June 23, for underground utility work tied to the upcoming Bayfront Parkway pedestrian bridge project.

The closure, which is expected to last about four weeks, is necessary to support infrastructure improvements above the Bayfront Parkway (Route 4034).

Sidewalk and residential access will remain open throughout the work.

The project is part of ongoing preparations for a new pedestrian bridge near Holland Street.
