LECOM and Erie Art Museum to Launch Wellness-Focused Partnership
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) and the Erie Art Museum have announced a new partnership aimed at enhancing wellness and education through art.
The partnership began in May 2025 and will run through June 2026, all LECOM students, faculty, and staff will receive free memberships to the museum.
The collaboration will include access to museum exhibitions and a Visual Thinking Strategies program designed to support medical education.
“Art and creativity are increasingly recognized as ways to combat stress, loneliness, anxiety, and more,” said Laura Domencic, Executive Director of the Erie Art Museum.
LECOM Provost Dr. Silvia Ferretti added, “Art in medical training can enhance observational skills and critical thinking. It helps students develop a holistic understanding of their future patients.”
The partnership highlights the intersection of arts and medicine as a tool for both professional development and mental health support.
