Pittsburgh International Airport to Receive $10.5 Million for New Terminal
U.S. Rep. Chris Deluzio (PA-17) has announced that the Allegheny County Airport Authority will receive more than $10.5 million in new federal funding to support the final phases of construction on Pittsburgh International Airport’s new terminal.
The funding, awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation, will help complete the $1.5 billion modernization project, which aims to replace the airport’s aging concourse.
The grant will go toward interior finishes, including glass partitions, metal panels, flooring, lighting, and public safety systems such as alarms and notifications.
“This new terminal is going to be a game changer for Western PA. Boosting our economy, creating jobs, and improving the travel experience for everyone,” said Deluzio. “I’m proud to deliver this investment to get the project across the finish line.”
Since 2021, the Pittsburgh airport project has received over $129 million in federal funding through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
The new terminal is expected to open by the end of 2025 with improved passenger flow, security enhancements, and sustainable design features.
