Warren, PA - With temperatures on the rise, many residents and visitors in the City of Warren are heading to a long-standing local spot to cool off—the City of Warren's Conewango - Allegheny River Pool, commonly known as the CAR Pool.

The CAR Pool has been open since the 1970s and continues to provide a safe environment for people of all ages.

Largely surrounded by open water, the City of Warren's public pool offers supervised swimming options, making it an important resource during the summer months.

Dani Mumford, Aquatics Director with the YMCA, and CAR Pool manager, says the pool is staffed with fully trained lifeguards and maintained by the city to ensure a secure experience for swimmers.

"One of the many reasons we are grateful that our pool is open is that it provides a safe place for our kids to come to with our lifeguards on duty here," stated Mumford. "There is so much open water in Warren County, so having this pool open - it's a great place for kids to come to, and swim in a safe and controlled environment."

Beyond the basics, the pool includes a slide, water features for younger children, lawn space for sunbathing, and several shaded pavilions. Local children say the pool is one of their favorite places to be when school is out.

“I love swimming with my friends and going down the slide,” said Zoey Campbell. “It’s a lot of fun."
"I really like to swim, especially on hot days," stated Jacob Fry. "It's a lot of fun."
"I just really like coming here and making new friends," added Aurora Williams.

For longtime residents like Rita Rudolph, the pool is a community asset that brings generations together.

“I’m so thankful we have this,” she said. “It gives me a safe place to take my grandson where we can enjoy the day. I don't know what we would do in this heat if we didn't have this pool.”

The Warren City CAR Pool is open daily from noon until 6:00PM, weather permitting.
