The White Inn in Fredonia Officially Reopens with Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Ceremony

After years of anticipation and extensive restoration, The White Inn officially reopened its doors Thursday, June 26, with a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony attended by local leaders, business partners, and community members.
Hosted by the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA), the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce, and the Inn’s new ownership team, the event celebrated the return of a beloved landmark to downtown Fredonia.
Originally built in 1868 and converted to a hotel in 1920, The White Inn had been closed since 2017.
The multimillion-dollar restoration was spearheaded by Steve St. George, owner of S. St. George Enterprises, and Executive Chef Devin Jones.
Since acquiring the property in 2022, the team has worked to bring the 25,000-square-foot structure back to its former grandeur while adding modern amenities. he Inn now boasts 25 renovated guest rooms and suites, an upscale restaurant, bar, banquet hall, and lounge.
“When we first announced our purchase of The White Inn, I said I was excited to give back to Fredonia,” said St. George. “Today, I’m even more excited to see this place once again become a point of pride for the community.”
The project received support from multiple agencies, including Empire State Development, the CCIDA, and the New York State Office of Community Renewal. In total, public assistance exceeded $2 million in grants and incentives.
Local leaders praised the project for its economic and cultural significance.
“We are over-the-top impressed with the final product,” said Mark Geise, CCIDA CEO. “The White Inn is now a key destination for both residents and visitors.”
“Whether you need a hotel, a meal, or a memorable venue, The White Inn can meet your needs once again,” added County Executive PJ Wendel.
State Senator George Borrello called the reopening a “huge win for our region,” while Fredonia Mayor Michael Ferguson declared the Inn “a huge economic anchor” and presented the owners with a key to the village.
Community members can now book overnight stays, enjoy locally inspired cuisine, and reserve event space.
