It was a rainbow of colors down at Liberty Park for the annual Pride on the Bay celebration.

The afternoon festival featured dozens of vendor tenths, drag performances, music, food, and resources for members of the LGBTQIA community.

Some of the activities included a market place where people could purchase crafts, jewelry, and clothing.

There was also a health and wellness hub where people could get testing done for HIV and STD's.

Christina Salvia, with Compton's Table said, "The most important things we can do to combat that, is to create community and safe space and support for them and that is what we aim to do at Compton's Table"

There was also plenty of merchandise tables too.

Organizers shared what it means to host an event like this where there is something for everyone and each person was represented.

Michael Mahler, the Treasurer and Founder NWPA Pride Alliance said, "It is wonderful to see how the community has grown and thrived and prospered. it is wonderful to see the diversity within the community."

Some people have been coming to Pride on the Bay for years, like Felix Nagle who said, "There's more things to do, more events and I think we are showing that Erie really can be a very accepting place."

For others, it was their first time attending, like Katie Gallagher, who said, "I'm looking forward to being around others that are accepting of others and meeting some new people."

Mahler said these events are for everyone, "So by having some events where you have a lot of different organizations because I can find resources, I can find friends, I can find community."

The annual Pride parade will be taking place on Sunday.

Line-up begins at 12:00 and the parade steps off at 1:00 in Downtown Erie.
