Many people are busy this week getting ready for the Fourth of July holiday.

Between buying food, drinks, and fireworks, there's a lot to get done. But, if people make a trip to Edinboro to Flagship Fireworks, they will find they have plenty of items still in stock. From big booms to novelty items, tariffs haven't slowed them down.

Mike Kyle, the Manager of Flagship Fireworks said,  "Inventory right now is very good. We have been seeing people coming in and shopping early which we love to see, not everyone wants to wait until July 2,3,4 to be here."

Kyle has worked in the fireworks sales and industry for years and said despite rising costs, they are on target for sales this year. "We are pretty much on par with the past couple years and with our sales and our customers. We have been having a lot of repeat customers which has been great top see this time of year. Obviously, we want to see everybody back that has been here", said Kyle.

Tariffs have played a role in costs, but it hasn't had too much of an effect on business. Kyle said a lot of their ordering was done back in 2024, so a lot of their product was already in stock and haven't had too many issues with tariffs. According to Kyle, "With that said, we do have one container that is being held because we didn't want a 150 percent tariff just due to the effects it would have. It would absorb the cost of a lot of the tariffs we have gotten on any of those."

Although many of their customers are repeats, they still have a handful of new ones and they try to remind every customer that safety is the number one priority. "We point people towards the safer things that they are willing to use. If they are looking for smaller novelty items vs the bigger boom. Obviously distance is your biggest friend. You have to have the 150 feet from any residential location, building, occupancy, structure", said Kyle.

Kyle also noted that a lot of their staff are trained to answer any fireworks related question when it comes to displays, safety, and costs.
