After weeks of testimonies from dozens of witnesses, the jury has reached a verdict in the case against music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

There were five counts against him. The jury found him guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

He was found not guilty of the more serious charges.

He is accused of running a sex-trafficking operation. He had pleaded not guilty and denied the allegations.

The verdict got a lot of reaction from both sides.

The executive director of the Crime Victim Center of Erie County said he is disappointed.

“So much of it is misunderstanding what sexual assault is, misunderstanding what violence is, and blaming the victim,” Paul Lukach said.

He’s worried that some victims won’t want to come forward because people won't believe them.

“Some people just never come forward, they’re afraid they won’t be believed,” he said. “So when these cases are determined [not to] be true, then that makes more people not want to report.”

For those [who] do, he wants them to know that the services at the Crime Victim Center are free and confidential.

“Get to us. Talk to someone. We know that traumatic experiences can be reduced and even relieved [in] a person if they talk them through with a qualified counselor,” he said. “We want that to happen. That’s why we exist.”
