Warren Receives $100K for Downtown Facade Revitalization

City of Warren Municipal Building, Warren PA
Warren, PA – While many communities across the region are facing delays due to freezes in funding, the City of Warren is celebrating progress with a new state grant aimed at revitalizing its downtown.
Warren was recently awarded a $100,000.00 Downtown Matters Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). The funding will be used to support façade improvements in the city’s commercial district.
“This was awarded from the state, from DCED,” said Randy Rossey, Director of Codes, Planning and Zoning for the City of Warren. “Facades are something that just jump out—you notice right away that there’s been improvement. So, this is something that everyone can see immediately, instant gratification once it’s completed, as opposed to things that go on behind the scenes that you don't always see, like infrastructure. So, this is exciting news for us, and the city is excited to be able to use these funds to help support local businesses.”
City officials say the improvements will enhance the visual appeal of the downtown area and complement other ongoing revitalization efforts.
The Downtown Matters program is designed to help communities across Pennsylvania invest in physical upgrades that support local businesses and attract new investment. In Warren, officials hope the visible improvements will boost community pride and encourage further economic development in the heart of the city.
