The fun started in the morning with Millcreek’s 58th Annual 4th of July Parade. It’s a parade that organizers spend months planning for.

“The kids are having so much fun…watching them get the candy and smile. It just takes you back to your childhood,” Millcreek parade co-chair Erica Ruble said.

Some kids lunged for the candy. But they weren’t just there for candy.

Some liked seeing family and friends.

“It’s awesome to see different people participating,” Maksym Machalinski said

Our team loves seeing everyone, too! That’s why we also went to Lawrence Park’s parade.

It’s smaller but still gets big crowds.

Like Millcreek, kids loved getting candy. But they know parades are more than that.

“My favorite thing [is] that we get to support America,” Naziah Gorden said.

Stella Matose liked seeing the firefighters in the Lawrence Park parade.

“Whenever people are in danger or whenever their house is on fire, they put it out, and I’m really happy about that,” she said.

No matter where they were, people loved having some time off to have fun.
