Drivers across northwestern Pennsylvania are getting some relief at the pump as gas prices continue to slide during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.

According to AAA East Central’s latest report, the average price for a gallon of unleaded self-serve gasoline in Western Pennsylvania is now $3.495, down six cents from last week.

In Erie, the average stands at $3.516, while Meadville is averaging $3.588 and Warren is at $3.662. Across the broader region, prices are generally falling despite an uptick in travel tied to the July 4th holiday, when over 61 million Americans were expected to hit the road.

Pennsylvania remains among the top 10 most expensive states for gasoline, averaging $3.31 statewide. While this is still above the national average of $3.14, it's down significantly from last summer’s prices and far below the record state average of $5.029 recorded on June 13, 2022.

For electric vehicle drivers, the national average price per kilowatt hour at public charging stations remains unchanged at 36 cents this week.
