EmergyCare Earns National Recognition for Excellence in Cardiac and Stroke Response
EmergyCare has been nationally honored for its outstanding emergency medical services with the Mission: Lifeline EMS Silver Achievement Award from the American Heart Association, recognizing its commitment to delivering fast, research-driven care for heart attacks and strokes across northwestern Pennsylvania.
The award highlights EmergyCare’s role in offering timely, high-quality treatment that begins at the moment EMS arrives on scene, often up to an hour sooner than if a patient were transported by private vehicle.
“Achievements like this stand as a testament to EmergyCare’s unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality clinical care,” said David J. Basnak, President and Executive Director of EmergyCare. “With more than 40,000 EMS missions each year, excellence is not optional, it is essential.”
The Mission: Lifeline EMS program is a national initiative by the American Heart Association aimed at optimizing care for patients with high-risk, time-sensitive conditions such as severe heart attacks and strokes. The program emphasizes coordination across the full continuum of care, from the initial 911 call, through EMS transport, to hospital treatment and discharge.
Dr. Kacey Kronenfeld, chair of the Mission: Lifeline EMS Taskforce, stressed the importance of EMS in these medical emergencies: “Early condition identification, stabilization, and prehospital interventions provide patients with the best chance for receiving expedient therapies leading to optimal outcomes.”
The recognition underscores the vital role EmergyCare’s clinical staff play in saving lives through quick intervention, expert care, and regional coordination.
