Florida couple visits Erie and gives birth at UPMC Magee's Women Hospital
The Moore family came to Erie to visit friends. They arrived as a family of three and soon after their arrival became a family of four. After a day of dining and sightseeing, Sarah Moore rested in bed. She was ironically watching a social media reel of a woman's water breaking and moments later the same thing happened to her. What makes the event more kismet is this was during June's Strawberry Moon appearance. Her husband moved to action and her best friend who shares the same name recommended UPMC Magee-Women's Hospital. She said the hospital is wonderful and drove the Moore family there for care.
During this time Moore was only 32 weeks pregnant. This is a critical time for a baby because lung development does not occur until week 34. The nursing staff was able to use the necessary remedies to help Sarah's body settle. The birth of Baby Moore was delayed for 11 days. With bed rest and support from her husband, Moore gave birth on June 23, and the baby boy weighed 6 pounds.
The newest member of the Moore family was given the name Rocky Moon Peele. Moore said using Moon as a middle name seemed appropriate. Rocky stayed in the NICU for two weeks but graduated on July 7. The family says they will "Moore" than likely make Erie as a yearly summer get away.
