The Pennsylvania State Police released crash and enforcement statistics following the Independence Day travel period.

From July 3 through July 6, troopers investigated 803 vehicle crashes, resulting in 12 fatalities and 156 injury-related crashes.

Of the 803 total crashes, 58 involved drivers under the influence, though none of those incidents resulted in a fatality, a marked decline from 2024 when five DUI-related crashes were fatal.

State troopers made 458 DUI arrests during the four-day enforcement window and issued thousands of citations, including:

   •5,790 for speeding

   •634 for seat belt violations

•131 for child safety seat violations

   •150 drug-related arrests

   •14,596 other citations

While 2025 saw fewer total crashes and citations than the previous year, which covered a five-day period, the number of lives lost remained unchanged at 12.

These figures represent only incidents handled by the Pennsylvania State Police and do not include those investigated by local or regional law enforcement agencies.
