State Police to Host 'Sunny Day Camp' for Special Needs Community in Union City
Pennsylvania State Police Troop E will host its annual Sunny Day Camp on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Union City High School. The inclusive, one-day camp welcomes children and adults with special needs from across Erie, Warren, Crawford, and Venango counties.
Registration begins at 9:30 AM, with activities running from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, rain or shine.
The event offers participants hands-on experiences and demonstrations from law enforcement officers and first responders.
Attendees can interact with K-9 units, the bomb squad, SERT, fire trucks, and even a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter.
Each participant will receive a Sunny Day Camp T-shirt and enjoy a graduation ceremony, lunch, and t-shirt signing to close out the day.
The camp is free of charge thanks to support from the Boosters of Camp Cadet, a nonprofit organization. All participants must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver for the entire event.
Registration is required and must be completed online by visiting www.sunnydaycamp.org, selecting “Find a Camp Near You,” scrolling to Troop E Erie, and clicking “Register Now.”
