Erie Philharmonic's Free Summer Concert Series Begins in Corry This Thursday
The Erie Philharmonic is taking its music on the road once again with the return of its “In Your Hometown” free summer concert series, kicking off Thursday, July 10 at 6:30 PM in Downtown City Park, Corry.
Conducted by Music Director Daniel Meyer, the evening program features a stirring lineup of British Isles-inspired works, including Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” Symphony, Holst’s “St. Paul’s Suite”, and Vaughan Williams’ Tuba Concerto in F minor, with a solo performance by Erie Phil Principal Tuba Ken Heinlein.
Free interactive family activities begin at 6:00 PM, making the event perfect for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets for this outdoor performance.
The full summer tour continues across the region with the same musical program in Meadville, North East, and more, followed by special appearances from the Erie Philharmonic Brass Ensemble and a grand finale performance in August featuring the Erie Philharmonic Octet, Chorus Chamber Choir, and Junior Philharmonic String Quartet.
