Firecracker Bingo Supports Sugar Grove Library Funding

Sugar Grove, PA – The Sugar Grove Free Library is preparing for its third annual Firecracker Bingo Party, set for Friday, July 11th at 6:00PM at the Sugar Grove Fire Hall.
As federal and state funding for local libraries remains uncertain, small rural libraries like the Sugar Grove Free Library have become more dependent on support from the community.
The upcoming Firecracker BINGO fundraiser is more than just bingo - it's about keeping vital services alive.
Admission for the event is $30 and includes ten bingo cards, door prizes, raffles, pull tabs, and a pie auction. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
Library leaders say the fundraiser helps maintain services and free programs as public funding remains uncertain.
“Our local fundraisers are very important and crucial for us," stated Beverly Leonhardt, Sugar Grove Free Library, Director. "Especially as federal and state funding can vary from year to year. But this event is special, in that participants are not only helping the library, but they are also supporting our local VFD as well, it really is a great collaborative event for both organizations.”
“This event alone raises about 20% of our operating budget, as opposed to municipal contributions," added David Chase, Sugar Grove Library Board Treasurer. "It really is a great event for us and a fun way to generate funds for the library, plus it's just really good to see the community come together."
Tickets are available at the door or in advance through the library at their location on Harmon Avenue in Sugar Grove, PA.
