Marchello Woodard Laid to Rest

A week and a half after Marchello Woodward was killed, family and friends celebrated his life with a funeral on Saturday.
Dressed in black and white, dozens of family, friends, loved ones, and community members gathered inside Second Baptist Church to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Woodard.
Many people from the community wanted to make sure Woodard's life was memorialized and recognized in a proper way. Friends and family said they would be sharing memories of his life and how he was an influence to so many people and how he touched so many lives too.
Deonte Cooley, a relative said, "Chello had a huge impact on the Erie community. He had direct impact on a lot of people, he had indirect impact on a lot of people, so it's great to see a lot of people who wanted to honor his life and be a part of the memorial services here for him today."
Close family and friends said they have been moved by the way the community has shown support through, marches, rallies, and protests in Marchello's name seeking justice.
According to Cooley, "If you look and see from the events taking place over the last week, he was a really cherished individual who lived in the city of Erie, people are going to celebrate his life and remember all the good things about him."
Following the service, close family and friends said they want to continue to seek justice for Chello. Representatives for the family said they want charges filed immediately.
