8th Annual Squatchfest Draws Crowd, Boosts Local Economy in Kane

Kane, PA — The Kane Family Drive-In Theatre welcomed hundreds of visitors this weekend for their 8th Annual Squatchfest, a family-friendly music festival that continues to grow in popularity and economic impact.
The all-day event featured live bands, inflatables, mini golf, a rock climbing wall, axe throwing, and a fireworks display to cap off the night. Local vendors also lined the grounds, selling food, handmade goods, and Squatch-themed memorabilia.
“This event is so fantastic for our community," said Kathy Counts, Kane resident. “My family and I have been coming here since Squatchfest started and it's wonderful. I cannot recommend it enough - everyone should come out to Kane for this festival. It is so amazing!”
"This our fourth year performing here," stated Ariel Eva Resonance, of Resonance Band. "Everyone here at the Drive-In has become our family, they are so welcoming, it really has become our home away from home and we hope to come back and perform every year."
Organizers say Squatchfest isn’t just about entertainment — it’s also a way to introduce young people to live music and support local artists.
“For so many children, they really don't get the chance to enjoy high-caliber music and live music until they are older," explained Lowell Watts, Owner of Kane Family Drive-In and Event Organizer. "This event is truly family-friendly and helps introduce them to the world of music. We have set it up to be welcoming and inviting for the whole family - giving people a place to gather and showcase musicians and vendors at the same time.”
The Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau says events like Squatchfest play an important role in promoting tourism and showcasing what the region has to offer.
“Anytime we can have an event of this magnitude - that not only gives local residents of McKean County something fun to do, but visitors as well - it's a total win," Rustin Lippincott, Executive Director of the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau.
With strong turnout and positive feedback, organizers say planning is already underway to expand next year’s event.
