It was perfect weather for the 26th annual Krista's Motorcycle Event benefiting Make A Wish, named in honor of Krista Pawlowski, a fourteen-year old girl who lost her battle to cancer in 2002.

On Sunday, motorcyclists started their engines for a ride to benefit children's wishes.

Ed Bowes, a motorcyclist said, "They are having a good time and they are seeing all the people supporting them and it's great."

Krista's Ride started years ago and while it has evolved, the mission to help children has remained the same. Robert Pawlowski, the organizer and Krista's dad said, "We have raised close to $600,000 in these 26 years. I have a lot of great people doing this work, a lot of great sponsors, but it's about those kids. If there are wish kids out there, we are going to do it."

More people have gotten involved with the organization since it was formed. Organizers said while it's great to see how this event has grown from year to year, there's still some of those supporters who have been here since day one and those are the ones they are truly thankful for."

Pawlowski said there have been some bikers who have been coming since the first year, "We started this 26 years ago and I still have people after 26 years coming to this thing and I think that is pretty darn amazing, it's a lot of old bikers I gotta tell you."

Bikers said they are grateful to be part of it, year after year.
Chris Hill, a rider said, "It's being passed down and people are grabbing onto it and taking the advantage of helping others and it's just a great feeling."

In addition to the ride and golf tournament, people could enjoy a cash bar, raffles, and live entertainment all day.
