Cable Hollow Hosts WNY PGA Pro-Am Tournament

Cable Hollow golf course hosts WNY PGA ProAm, Russell PA
Russell, PA — Cable Hollow Golf Course hosted its first-ever Western New York Pro-Am Tournament this week, welcoming 25 PGA professionals and their amateur teammates for a full day of competitive play.
The format paired each pro with three amateurs, bringing in players from across the region. Although the day began with a light drizzle, the weather held out, remaining humid and overcast—providing suitable conditions for tournament play.
“This is absolutely fantastic,” said Steve Carney, a PGA Master Professional. “Arthur Stewart has done a fantastic job with bringing this course up another notch. It always was a good golf course, and he's finding ways even to improve it every day.”
Many of the pros were visiting Cable Hollow for the first time, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.
“The day has been fantastic. It’s been awesome,” said Brayden Weiss, Director of Competition for the Western New York PGA. “This is the first time for a lot of our pros coming out to this facility, and it’s been incredible. Everyone’s had a lot of nice things to say.”
For course owner Arthur Stewart, the event was a point of pride.
“We were really honored that the PGA selected us for this program,” Stewart said. “We have twenty-five pros here from Western New York, and the feedback’s been good—I think they had a great time here. We really hope that our course will be selected again.”
The next event in the Western New York Pro-Am series is the Blaisdell Pro-Am, which will be held July 22–23 at the Pennhills Club in Bradford, Pennsylvania.
