Three Rivers Adaptive Sports Adaptive Water Sports Clinic for people with Disabilities
For 35 years, Three Rivers Adaptive Sports (TRAS) Adaptive Water Sports continues to make water sports possible for people with disabilities. The organization hosts a four-day clinic at Iroquois Boating and Fishing Club on Conneaut Lake (PA). The Adaptive Water Sports Clinic is open to people with any type of disability including leg and arm amputation, spinal cord injuries, arthritis, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, orthopedic disabilities, polio, stroke survivors and people who have suffered a brain injury.
The clinic provides water ski instruction using state of the art adaptive water ski equipment including adjustable seating and outriggers for increased balance/stability. For individuals who are unable to utilize the water ski equipment, water tubing is an option. In addition to the scheduled water sports, participants can choose to cool off by swimming, floating, relaxing and enjoying the lake. Our accessible beach mat will provide easy access to waterfront activities.
The program is facilitated by volunteers and made possible with donations. Leaders say, the is goal is for participants to able to water ski on their own without assistance.
