Drivers across northwestern Pennsylvania are seeing some relief at the pump this week, as average gas prices across Western Pennsylvania fell nine cents to $3.405 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s latest Gas Price Report.

The trend reflects a broader nationwide dip, with gas prices now at their lowest summer levels since July 2021.

Locally, Erie County drivers are paying an average of $3.431 per gallon, down from last week’s $3.495. In Crawford County, prices average $3.454 in Meadville, while Warren County drivers are seeing some of the highest regional prices at $3.656.

Here’s a breakdown of average gas prices in areas:

   •Erie – $3.431

   •Meadville – $3.454

   •Warren – $3.656

   •Oil City – $3.466

   •Bradford – $3.599

   •Mercer – $3.666

   •Butler – $3.430

   •New Castle – $3.387

The national average dipped to $3.14 before a slight uptick to $3.15, still 37 cents cheaper than a year ago.  Meanwhile, electric vehicle (EV) charging costs held steady at 36 cents per kilowatt hour nationwide.

Gas prices are highest in:

   •California ($4.53)

   •Hawaii ($4.47)

   •Washington ($4.40)

Lowest averages are found in:

   •Mississippi ($2.71)

   •Alabama and Louisiana ($2.79)

   •Texas ($2.80)
