Blasco Library Launches 'Wolves vs. Mammoths' Display to Celebrate SeaWolves Rebrand

Things just got a little wilder at the Blasco Library.
To mark the buzz around Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’s rebrand of the Erie SeaWolves as the “Erie Mammoths,” the library is launching a themed display titled “Wolves vs. Mammoths” and inviting visitors to pick a side.
The eye-catching exhibit pits two prehistoric powerhouses against each other. On one side: wolves, cunning and fierce. On the other: mammoths, ancient and unstoppable. The collection includes a mix of natural history, children’s stories, mythology, and pop culture titles that feature both species, plus a few baseball-related books for good measure.
“We wanted to bring the fun of the SeaWolves rebrand into the stacks,” said a library spokesperson. “This is a way to connect sports, science, and storytelling, while giving our patrons a chance to settle the big question: who would win?”
Visitors can browse the themed selections, cast a vote for their favorite beast, and even learn more about baseball team branding and mascot history.
The “Wolves vs. Mammoths” display is now open at Blasco Library. Stop by, pick your animal, and explore the wild side of the library.
