The Erie Center for Arts & Technology will hold its Big Art Day community fundraiser this Saturday, July 19, at Grounded Print and Paper Shop from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Local artists were invited to carve wood blocks featuring people, plants, or animals found in their communities. These blocks will be pressed into individual prints using a 3,000-pound steam roller to create a large mosaic cityscape. The public will be able to purchase individual prints at the event, with all proceeds benefiting ECAT’s Teen Arts program.

The Teen Arts program offers free professional arts instruction to more than 100 teens each semester in Erie County. Organizers say the event is meant to celebrate creativity, community, and the transformative power of art.

Big Art Day is a collaborative effort between ECAT and Grounded Print Shop.
