A beloved Erie tradition is marking a major milestone this week, and loyal customers are lining up for the celebration.

Whippy Dip, the iconic ice cream stand at the corner of Chestnut and West 26th Streets, is turning 60. To honor the occasion, the shop is offering rotating 60-cent deals throughout the week, including hot dogs, root beer floats, sundaes, and more, while supplies last.

On Thursday, the featured deal is a small confetti cake snowstorm for just 60 cents. Doors are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The original Whippy Dip location near the Erie Cemetery has been serving up frozen treats and classic eats since 1965. While a second location exists on 12th Street, this anniversary celebration is exclusive to the original stand.

Congratulations to the Whippy Dip team for keeping the scoops, and the memories, coming for six decades.
