33-Year-Old Killed in Waterford Township Hit-and-Run; State Police Seek Public’s Help
A hit-and-run accident in Waterford Township early Saturday morning claimed the life of a 33-year-old man.
It happened on Route 19, not far from the fairgrounds.
State Police say an unknown vehicle traveling south hit the man as he was walking along Route 19 in the same direction.
Coroner Lyell Cook said the man was pronounced dead from his injuries just after 2 a.m.
State Police say the driver fled the scene. They’re asking for the public’s help.
Investigators are looking for information on vehicles that traveled through the Route 97 and Route 19 roundabout and headed south between 12:55 and 1:10 a.m. Saturday.

Police have not released the victim’s name. As of the latest update, the coroner was still working to notify family members.
