While the city was abuzz over the debut of the Moon Mammoths, a rescue effort was underway at the Erie Water Authority building.

Erie Firefighters IAFF Local 293 shared via Facebook that the Engine 11 crew, along with the Erie Police Department, Erie Water Authority staff, and Streets and Sewer Department employees, worked together to rescue six ducklings trapped in a sewer drain. A passerby initially noticed the duckling's mother frantically pacing near the drain.

Thanks to the coordinated effort, all six ducklings were safely removed and reunited. The team’s quick response and teamwork didn’t go unnoticed, earning praise from residents and local officials.
