Families are invited to dive into a day of freshwater fun at Fish Field Day, hosted by Asbury Woods on Saturday, August 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Andrew J. Conner Nature Center. The free, public event is a celebration of fish, water, and conservation, featuring hands-on activities, demonstrations, and educational stations for all ages.

Local partners like Trout Unlimited, Pennsylvania Sea Grant, and the PA Fish and Boat Commission will be on hand with interactive exhibits, including:

   •Fly-fishing and fly-tying demos

•Casting games with S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie

•A chance to reel in a “monster steelhead” with the PA Steelhead Association

•Live aquatic critters and food chain exploration

•An up-close look at the Corry Hatchery stocking truck

•Activities from the Trout in the Classroom program

•An aquatic invasive species station focused on local environmental impacts

•Lessons in water quality and pollution

“This one-day festival emphasizes partnership with local clubs and organizations for a free, fun-filled day exploring fish and water,” said Emma Mader, Director of Education at Asbury Woods.

Kids can also enjoy trout-themed crafts and coloring, while families can take home free water-related books thanks to Hooked on Books for Kids.
