ECGRA’s Tom Maggio Selected for National Leadership Program on Community Development
Tom Maggio, AICP, Grant Program Manager for the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority (ECGRA), has been named a Fellow of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy’s Vibrant Communities Program, a national initiative aimed at equipping public sector leaders with tools to build thriving, equitable communities.
Maggio is one of only 60 civic leaders from across the country chosen to participate in the prestigious fellowship. With more than 25 years of experience in planning and development, including work on Erie’s waterfront, Maggio brings deep local and national expertise to the cohort.
“There is a need for communities to be led with values and ethics to ensure that we are building a solid foundation so everyone can share in the promise of a prosperous future,” said Maggio. “This program will help ECGRA learn the latest industry trends and give us more planning tools to use.”
The Lincoln Vibrant Communities Fellows Program focuses on empowering leaders from cities and counties to address key challenges related to equity, sustainability, and growth. Participants include professionals from a range of sectors such as local government, regional planning agencies, and nonprofit organizations.
Maggio’s participation marks a significant opportunity for Erie to benefit from national best practices in community planning and development.
