SCRUBGRASS TOWNSHIP, PA – The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Franklin Station is investigating a deadly incident that occurred on Emlenton Clintonville Rd, approximately one mile west of Oneida Valley Road in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County. Authorities responded to the scene following a report of a woman found with multiple gunshot wounds.

Upon arrival, police discovered the victim, a 44-year-old white, non-Hispanic female, who had been shot multiple times. She was pronounced dead at the scene., according to Pennsylvania State Police. Through their investigation, police identified a suspect, a 52-year-old white, non-Hispanic male, who reportedly had prior issues with the victim and her husband.

State Police claim, law enforcement established a perimeter around the suspect's residence and attempted to make contact with him, but their efforts were unsuccessful. A search warrant for the residence was obtained, and members of the PSP tactical units entered the home. Inside, they found the suspect deceased in the living room from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to State Police.

The PSP has activated a full Major Case Team to investigate the incident further. The investigation remains ongoing.
