Erie's Temple Anshe Hesed celebrated 150 years of its community in the region

This weekend the congregation gathered for special services and for a big picnic at the current temple location on Old Zuck Road.

They called it the 150th anniversary reunion weekend.

Rabbi Rob Morais said people came from as far as California, Colorado, and Virginia to share stories about the history and life events for families across decades of the congregation.

The temple itself has moved to different locations, but those who grew up in Erie still consider themselves part of Temple Anshe Hesed's congregation.

The 150th reunion weekend was sponsored by temple funds and a donation from BNY Mellon.
