Guns & Hoses Charity Game Returns to UPMC Park August 3
NAMI Erie County PA is once again bringing together the community for its annual Guns & Hoses Charity Baseball Game, taking place Sunday, August 3, 2025, at UPMC Park. Gates open at 12:00 PM with the first pitch set for 1:00 PM, delivered by Erie Mayor Joe Schember.
The free event features a softball matchup between the Erie Police Department and the Erie Fire Department. While the game is a fun display of friendly competition, with the police currently leading the series 2-0, the event carries a deeper purpose: raising awareness about mental health challenges experienced by first responders.
NAMI Erie County PA has collaborated with both departments in the past to provide specialized mental health presentations and training. Sunday’s game offers the public a chance to support that mission while enjoying an afternoon at the ballpark.
In addition to the game, attendees can browse vendor tables featuring mental health resources and information. Each table will also host free raffles, giving fans a chance to win prizes throughout the afternoon.
Local personality Shawn Lafferty will serve as the event MC. Admission is free, with tickets available in advance at the UPMC Park Stadium box office.
