Master Sergeant Richard Sambuchino was named the Educator of the Year at the American Legion Department of Pennsylvania's 106th Convention.

The award recognizes his dedication and service as an educator within the JROTC program.

Sambuchino has been an Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor at Cathedral Prep for decades and will retire early next month.

He has overseen over 900 students within the JROTC program during his tenure.

The Wesleyville Legion, Carl Neff Post 571, received several awards at the Convention.

They were recognized for Community and Social Media projects.
