Tidioute, PA — The borough of Tidioute is preparing for its annual Fun Days celebration, set to take place Friday, August 1st through Saturday, August 2nd.

Originally started by the Tidioute Alumni Association, the event has expanded in recent years to include not only returning graduates, but local residents, visitors, and outdoor enthusiasts who frequent the area for its access to the Allegheny River and surrounding public lands.

“It was started by our alumni association, but after it disbanded in 2022, we wanted to keep it going - and make it bigger," explained event organizer Cindy Lindemuth. "This year we will have stone skipping demonstrations with our local national championship winner, Andy Severns, fishing demonstrations, history tours, several softball games, build your own "funn doggs" hotdogs — and for this year, we’ve added a trivia event. All of the events, aside from the hotdogs and alumni dinner will be free to the public as well. It's going to be a great weekend.”

The Warren County Visitors Bureau selected Tidioute Fun Days as a recipient of its tourism grant program this year. The funding was used to support advertising and outreach.

“We’re seeing a lot of revitalization efforts happening in Tidioute, they have really come a long way - with new businesses opening and efforts to draw more people into town,” said Casey Ferry of the WCVB. “We wanted to support those efforts and help them advertise outside of the area to help draw in even more people. This particular event is a really fun one, they have a lot of fun things for people to do and enjoy, even if they are not from the area."

The weekend will conclude with an alumni dinner at the Tidioute Fire Hall on Saturday evening.
