AAA: Slight Rise in PA Average Gas Prices, Erie at $3.356 per Gallon
Drivers in Western Pennsylvania are paying slightly more at the pump this week, according to AAA East Central’s latest Gas Price Report. The average price for regular unleaded gasoline in the region rose by two cents to $3.374 per gallon.
In Erie, the current average sits at $3.356, up slightly from last week, but still well below the region’s record high of $5.029 set in June 2022.
Across Pennsylvania, prices remain mixed. Erie’s rate is close to those in nearby cities like New Castle ($3.357) and Meadville ($3.384), while areas such as Mercer ($3.621) and Bradford ($3.597) continue to report higher prices.
Nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular is $3.15, unchanged from the July average and the same price seen in July 2021. Despite a slight uptick in crude oil prices and gasoline demand, the increases haven’t significantly impacted pump prices.
The average cost of charging an electric vehicle at a public station remains steady at 36 cents per kilowatt hour.
