LECOM Health has officially broken ground on its newest Colonial Family Pharmacy, located at 9040 Wattsburg Road, Suite A, in Greene Township. The new site, adjacent to LECOM’s Rural Health Clinic, is part of the health system’s ongoing effort to expand access to healthcare and pharmacy services in rural parts of Erie County.

“In many rural areas, accessing essential medications and basic healthcare can feel like a hassle with long lines, limited availability, and sparse resources,” said Dr. James Lin, President of the LECOM Institute for Successful Living. “But we’re rewriting that story. This new pharmacy means parents can pick up medicine for their children without having to go out of their way. It means elderly neighbors get the support they deserve. It means healthcare closer to home.”

The Wattsburg Road Colonial Family Pharmacy will be a full-service walk-in retail pharmacy offering prescription filling, immunizations, medication therapy management, monitoring, over-the-counter products, curbside pickup, delivery, and personalized counseling.

“Strategically locating the pharmacy next door to our primary care clinic reminds us that this new facility is not simply an expansion of our physical infrastructure and footprint, but an expansion of our ability to impact lives in profound ways,” said Dr. Danielle Hansen, Regional President of LECOM Health. “This pharmacy is a symbol that we will continue to innovate, serve, and improve the lives of the people who entrust us with their care.”

This newest location joins LECOM Health’s existing pharmacy network, which includes sites on Colonial Avenue and Peach Street in Erie, as well as a new Albion location expected to open later this fall.

LECOM Health says the expansion underscores its commitment to providing “hometown healthcare”, delivered by the community, for the community.
